Florida Baby Shower

Everytime I begin writing a blog about one of our showers, I am always so amazed and thankful at whomever threw us the shower.  Now, when the shower host is your mother or mother-in-law, this is to be somewhat expected.  But when they are a good friend, it blows you away.  Jeff and Brooke threw us a spectaular shower a couple of weeks ago at their house and we got to invite a lot of my Geosyntec coworkers and our friends and family based in Florida.  It was a "green" shower and no detail was left out.  The food was local and organic, the invites were printed on recycled paper, even the utensils were petroleum-free and biodegradable.  It was great to get all of our friends together and we can't say enough about the effort Brooke and Jeff put in to make the shower such a hit!  On another note, now that all of the showers are over, we are finally prepared for Bailey to arrive.  Here are a few pictures.

Notice the awesome Boston Red Sox-style "B".

Diaper Cake!

One of the 3 Bumbos we got.  Apparently there was a glitch in the registry.

Yummy homemade cupcakes.  Thanks Brooke!

Keys Trip

A few months back I won a radio station contest where they select a "song of the day" and you have to be the correct caller when they play the song.  The prize was a 2 night stay at an island-style hotel in Key Largo and a free sailing and snorkeling trip.  We spent the afternoon sailing around on a catamaran and swimming of the coast of Key Largo.  We got to see some beautiful coral reefs and lots of colorful fish.  Tory and Ray flew down for the weekend and we spent most of the time catching some rays by the pool, sipping piƱa coladas and strawberry daiquiris, and relaxing at the hotel.  It was a nice little vacation close to home.  Some pictures of the weekend are below.

Perfect beer holder.  This will have to serve as a baby bump update for this week.

Me snorkeling.  Swimming is awesome when you're pregnant!
